Gameplay:

  • The player starting the round gets dealt 15 tiles while others receive 14 tiles each.
  • If there hasn't been a sequence laid before, the total numeric value of the jokers in your hand must be equal to or greater than 51. If a sequence has been opened previously, you can start a new sequence with a value one higher than the previous one.
  • You need at least 4 pairs to open the pair area. Unlike sequences, there is no rule of incrementing when opening pairs.
  • When it's your turn, draw tiles from the pile on the table in the game of 51 Okey. Avoid drawing tiles from the left side immediately, as there are conditions for drawing from that side.

In the game, avoid creating sequences with numbers 12-13-1 of the same color as they won't be considered as a valid sequence.

No indicators are shown in the game, and there's no concept of placing an extra tile on top of a displayed tile.

In Okey, after forming all your tiles into sets, you used to place an extra tile on top of the displayed tile to indicate winning. However, in 51 Okey, this concept is not present. If there are no tiles left on the table to draw from, and it's your turn, discarding a tile ends the round. Similarly, if you only have one tile left in your hand when it's your turn, discarding that tile also ends the round.

If the total numeric value of the sets in your hand is greater than or equal to 51, you can lay them down on the table for other players to build upon. To do this, it must be your turn and you should have drawn a tile either from the pile or from another player's discard.

If you've already opened a sequence or pair on the table before, you're allowed to lay down any set directly without meeting specific conditions. As usual, it must be your turn and you should have drawn a tile from the pile or from another player's discard.

If someone has opened a sequence before you, your sets' total value on the table must be one higher than that person's last opening value. The same rule applies for pairs.

When it's your turn and you've drawn a tile from the pile, if you have at least four pairs in your hand, you can open those pairs in the pair area. After opening pairs like this, you are marked as someone who has opened pairs in that round.

If you've previously set up sequences or pairs on the table and it's your turn again, if you have a tile that can continue any existing set on the table in your hand, you can place it next to that set on either side. This is referred to as "merging."

If you've opened pairs before, you can also merge into existing sequences on the table. However, you cannot open new sequences on empty rows on the table using sets from your hand; only existing sequences can be merged into.

If you've opened sequences before, you can also merge into existing sequences on the table. You can open new sequences in empty rows on the table using sets from your hand. To open pairs based on sets from your hand merged into existing pairs on the table; there must be at least one player who has previously opened pairs.
